Small "whole in the wall" restaurants located in an urban area of a major city. These places are usually off the 'beat and path' but are known within the communities they serve.
Earle's Grille, a 25 year old Urban Eatery has changed a good bit from the old days. There’s no seating inside anymore — this is fast-casual, order at the counter stuff with a standing rail to dine at along the outer window. You’ll also find a more truncated menu of longtime Earle’s hits, but don’t worry: the turkey chili, vegan options, and all-beef dogs haven’t gone anywhere.

The Serving Spoon, a long standing restaurant for breakfast in Los Angeles, located on Centinela Blvd. Open from 6am to 2pm daily. Very popular on the weekends so be patient, because you will have to wait to be seated. Good food & even better prices!
